Providers who kept servers inside the country had to choose between complying and leaving, and most of them left. We are telling you where we stand instead of implying we are beyond every jurisdiction, which no one is.
Yes. Using a VPN is not illegal in India. What changed in 2022 is the CERT-In directive, which requires VPN providers with servers inside India to keep user records for five years. Most privacy focused providers responded by moving their servers out of the country. We do the same: our servers are outside India, so there is nothing for us to hand over.
